As soon as the Supreme Court squashed the Section 377, Ishqbaaaz actor Nakuul Mehta took to his Twitter page and celebrated the decision.

Today, it's indeed a day to rejoice for all .  Restoring hope of people in the Indian judiciary system, the Supreme Court of India today pronounced the historic verdict which decriminalizes Section 377. Under Section 377, sexual intercourse that is penile and non-vaginal is considered a crime.  After a long wait, protests and a long fights for the rights of the LGBTQ community, the Supreme Court finally squashed Section 377. Under Section 377, sexual intercourse that is penile and non-vaginal is considered a crime. In today's hearing, the Supreme Court shared that homosexuality is no longer a crime in India. The Bench was led by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra and comprises Justices Rohinton F. Nariman, A.M. Khanwilkar, D.Y. Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra.ANI tweeted today, "Five-judge Supreme Court bench by unanimous decision decriminalises #Section377".

After the decision came out, people took to their social media account and  pages to express joy and happiness. Many celebrities too thanked the Supreme Court for this beautiful decision and finally giving the LGBTQ community their rights. Ishqbaaaz actor Nakuul Mehta too took to his Twitter page and celebrated the SC's decision. Nakuul tweeted, "Yes! Yes! Yes Equal love for all .



Even Karan Johar applauded SC's decision as soon the news came out. The director tweeted, "Historical judgment!!!! So proud today! Decriminalising homosexuality and abolishing #Section377 is a huge thumbs up for humanity and equal rights! The country gets its oxygen back!".

Varun Dhawan also shared on Twitter , "A law implemented in 1860 is now abolished. A day for our entire nation to live with pride. Bye bye #sec377 #lovealllovefree #historic".

Preity Zinta wrote, "If you have a heart you should be free to love who you want. So Happy to hear that the Supreme Court of India has abolished #section377 decriminalising Homosexuality  #equality #lgbtrights #nodiscrimination #ting."
